2009 Plateau Challenge Tournament Rules

All games governed by 2009 Boys Lacrosse NFHS rules. Exceptions and additions to these rules are listed below.

  1. 2008/2009 7th and 8th graders only. All players must be “Senior” division players -- 7th or 8th graders as of the 2008-2009 school year.
  2. Rosters: A complete roster with Name, date of birth, USL member number and expiration date (if applicable), dark and light jersey numbers (if different), Spring 2009 grade, and school attended must be provided to the tournament director 5 days before the tournament (June 1, 2009). Roster changes will not be allowed after the team starts play in its first game. Players must be on a roster to participate. A player may participate in the tournament on only one roster. Team will forfeit all games played with one or more non-roster players, or with players listed on more than one roster.
  3. Each team is guaranteed 4 games, including playoff and/or consolation games. Games will be 10 vs. 10, 22 Minute running halves with 5 minute halftime. Each team has 1 time out per half. Clock does not stop on time outs. No time outs will be allowed during last 5 minutes of each half.
  4. Home teams are responsible for jerseys being distinguishable. All teams will be the home team in at least one game.
  5. Preliminary/pool and consolation games may end in a tie. Playoff games will be decided by sudden victory overtime. Playoff seeding is by win/loss/tie record. Tie breakers, in order, are head-to-head record, fewest goals against, and coin flip.
  6. If ejected from a game, player or coach will sit out the team’s next game. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  7. Each team is required to have a Parent Volunteer. The Parent Volunteer shall keep time and score at each team game, and to ensure signing of the score sheet, and report the score to the tournament director. Tournament director will NOT be responsible for errors in scores reported more than 30 minutes after the end of a game.
  8. The team is responsible for the conduct of its fans. Unruly, disrespectful or threatening fans will be asked to leave the tournament facilities. The team may be penalized for the conduct of its fans.
  9. All participants and fans must abide by the City of Sammamish facilities rules. These rules include strict prohibitions on all food and drinks on the field turf. Water is the only exception. Volunteers will be monitoring the facility for compliance with City rules.
  10. For situations not addressed by NFHS or the above stated rules, Tournament Director has final say.
